Radiators

Empire Radiator Service - Tubes N' Hoses® offers complete automotive, custom, antique, classic, truck and industrial radiators. We offer new, recored, and custom built radiators. We also repair copper brass and aluminum radiators. In addition, we make all types of hydraulic, AC & fluid lines.

New Radiators

The brands we offer are based on quality and value. They meet or exceed original manufacturers' specifications. All radiators are not the same. Some do not provide adequate cooling with today's under body breathers and small grills. Ford engineers tested some imports finding heat rejection well below OEM specifications. In one case it was less than half. The cheap imports also failed in less than 1,000 durability cycles against Ford's standard of 100,000. The radiators we sell will meet or exceed original manufacturers' cooling specifications.

Recored Radiators

Recored radiators are still cost effective in many cases, primarily the larger ones used in many full sized vehicles like GMC, Chevrolet, and Ford pickups and SUVs. This is true for truck and industrial radiators. See our Truck and Industrial section. Recores can also be custom built to meet your requirements.

Custom Radiators - Copper/Brass or Aluminum

We can recore or build a custom radiator, copper brass, or aluminum, to meet your needs and specifications. We have built radiators for a '57 blown Chevy, '37 Plymouth 350 small block, and many others. We have also recored radiators for motorcycles. If you have special needs due to a "built" motor or lack of space, call us. We have built radiators for customers in Pennsylvania, California, Tennessee, Nova Scotia, and the Cayman Islands. We will work with you to build a radiator to meet your requirements.

Installation tips

Do not use an air ratchet. This can cause damage to the threads or to the brackets. This may void your warranty. Take care not to damage the core when installing your radiator.

A professional flush of your cooling system is recommended prior to installing your new radiator to remove debris that could plug tubes.

  • Change the thermostat.
  • Use new coolant.
  • Check hoses for cracks and other damage.

After installation run your engine for about 10 minutes without the cap. Check for flow and that the thermostat opens. Run long enough for electric fans to cycle. Follow your car manufacturer’s recommendations to remove air from the cooling system.

Install a new cap.

Keep an eye on the temperature gauge the next few days to be sure everything is working correctly.
