Charged Air Coolers

Charge air coolers, also called after coolers, are extremely important to the proper operation of turbo charged diesels.  Air coming out of the turbo can reach temperatures of 425 F.  If it is not cooled valves can be burned.  In addition, if the charge air cooler is leaking you do not get complete combustion of the fuel.  The result is reduced milage, increased emissions and often black smoke.

For any vehicle over 3 years old we recommend testing of charge air coolers at least once a year.

We can test them for you.  Repairs are sometimes possible.  We recore charge air coolers in our shop using cores from Active Radiator.  This ensures you get a charge air cooler with zero leakage.
